Ashley A. Cloud
Altman + Barrett Architects
Much of Ashley’s childhood was spent on the road, with two curious and determined Marine Corps parents who worked tirelessly to expose her to every nook and cranny of this planet. Even as a child she carried her sketchbooks on each journey, inspired to make note of effective town plans, unique architectural details, and moments that sparked intrigue along the way.
Ashley is a recent graduate of the MFA Interior Design program at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where her thesis explored the role of participatory design in equitable suburban renewal.
Throughout a career in constructed environments, her work continues to explore the relationship between people, culture, and space – with a focus on the roles of representation and agency in process place making.
A background in American Studies, Folklore, and Historic Preservation helped foster her passion and appreciation for materiality and connection within interiors. Especially in her passion for the art of making and experimentation.
Ashley is an avid automotive enthusiast. When not working she enjoys restoring vintage cars and motorcycles with her husband and their wheaten terrier, Indiana.
